Do Rural Broadband have download or upload limits?
There are no limits on the amount of data that can be downloaded or uploaded, however users whose usage is deemed excessive on a regular basis will be contacted and restrictions will be used if the activity persists. It is important to remember that your Internet connection is a shared resource. Our acceptable usage policy states that you can’t use your connection in a way that adversely affects other users’ online experience.
Can someone spy on me while I am using my wireless or is my computer less secure?
No. We use Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and many other security measures to ensure the security of our home and business users.
Will my games work over your wireless?
Yes. Wireless works very well for gaming and in some if not most cases has lower latency then comparable types of service.
Are there any services that are incompatible with Rural broadband?
Yes. We are unable to support filesharing applications like Kazaa, Limewire and Bearshare as it puts too large a load on the network.
Can I keep my email account with another Internet Service provider?
Yes. There is no need to change your email address.
Can I use my phone while I use the internet?
Yes. Rural Broadband is wireless and does not require a phone line, In fact, the availability of voice over IP (VOIP) technology means that many people will no longer need a phone line at all.
