Internet speeds are measured in Kilobits Per Second or Megabits Per Second, these are not the same as the kilobytes and megabytes we use when talking about hard disks and files.

For example: a 5Mb file (size) downloaded on a 56K (speed) connection will take about 12 minutes and 30 seconds, but a 5Mb file downloaded on a 512K broadband connection will take about 1 minute and 30 seconds. This means you can download a 5 minute song MP3 file in less time than it takes to play it!

At rural broadband we offer a range of small, medium and large packages that will suit most applications.

Our standard connection is the Residential connection, and is suitable for most home and leisure use. The speed of this connection is up to 3Mb/s.

At the next level we have a Business connection with speeds of up to 5Mb/s.
